Rental Periods

Windsor dumpster rental periods and what an extension costs

Seven days on the smaller bins and ten on the larger ones, extensions at $10 to $25 a day by phone, and early collection at no charge.

  • 7 or 10 days
  • $10 to $25 a day
  • Early collection free

How Long

What a standard rental period includes

Seven days on the 6, 10, 14 and 15 yard bins, and ten on the 20, 30 and 40. That covers both weekends on a ten-day rental, which is why the larger sizes get the longer window.

Extra days are $10 on the smaller bins and $25 on the larger ones, added by phone without the bin moving. There is no penalty structure and no escalating rate: it is the same figure per day however long you keep it.

Early collection costs nothing. If you finish on day three, call and we will take it on the next run through the area rather than leaving it sitting there. Avoiding extra fees covers the charges that can appear and pricing what each size includes.

Managing Time

Four ways to keep a rental period working for you

  1. Book the delivery late

Take the bin once the demolition or packing is done, not before.

  2. Use the weekends

A Friday delivery on a seven-day rental gives you two weekends of work.

  3. Extend before the date

Call before collection day and the bin does not have to move.

  4. Finish early, call

Early collection is free and clears the driveway sooner.

Long Jobs

When a bin rental should be a swap instead

If the bin will be full before the period ends, an extension is the wrong tool. What you actually need is a swap: the full bin collected and an empty one left in its place, usually the same day.

On a construction job that is normal, and it is planned rather than reacted to. On a house clear it happens when the basement turns out worse than expected, which is often enough that it is worth mentioning at the booking.

Where a bin needs to be on site for weeks rather than days, a standing arrangement is cheaper than repeated extensions. Property management covers scheduled service and industrial and plant long site runs.

Extended twice at the rate they quoted. No escalation, no argument, one phone call each time.

Finished on the Sunday and they collected Monday morning. Nothing charged for the early pickup.

They suggested a swap rather than an extension when the basement turned out worse. Cheaper.

Straightforward. I forgot to call before the collection date and had to pay a day, which was fair.
